1k profit at NL10 in 30days
SoC, Dec 23 2011
Well after a lot of bad BRM decisions, that fortunately ran VERY well due to being over EV and playing like durr I've decided to go back to basics and actually play properly.
Withdrew ~700euros and bought a new PC that doesn't freeze every 10minutes and a new phone (Sony XP Play)
I want to be back at Nl25 by february, 40 buyins should be enough to smash it and survive variance!
So 100euro -> 1000 euro in 30days! (well until 26th Jan as I go budapest then)
1k hands so far +40 euros! Hope to keep crushing
Merry christmas to everyone and enjoy the festive holidays! (And hopefully you get more time off work than me)
Moment where everything clicks
SoC, Dec 16 2011
Sure it must've happened to everyone who makes $$ from poker, the moment where you just go "oh I know what to do"
After using all my luck getting a really good job even though I dropped out of uni (Investment banking job with no degree, Be less than 0.1% of people in these jobs that don't have degrees) and being insanely busy I closed all my online accounts for a minimum of 6months so I work hard and don't get distracted.
3months later, I got bored and opened a pokerstars france account.
Deposited around 100 euro donking about stupidly, was down to 3euro. Enter a turbo MTT, ship 44 AI first hand vs KK. Spike a 4. Cash for 20euro, AA gets cracked later on for massive pot. But can't complain. So i take my 20euro to 9max turbo sit and go's -
(Euros not dollars) And I win 20 euros on battle of planets. + 30 euros rakeback (1st deposit bonus's as well)
Not too keen to move to the 3euro SnG's (variance with 30buyins when I 20 table is uncopable) i move to 2nl - 1k hands 1 euro winnings
Move upto NL5 -
God mode activated, 18.3bb/100 over 12k hands. Last 2k hands are NL10 (20bb/100)
Jump between NL5 and Nl10 is much much bigger than I expected, 3bet lights are so so so more common. The analogy of "it's micros they can have any 2 cards" is long long dead (Until zynga poker arrives!)
Again I have a horrible sinking red line, the result of 15-24 tabling. But a blue line that goes double the other way is worth it. Not too sure if you can have a + red line at these stakes, very hard to force people to lay down hands and thats why nut hunting is solid.

Can you filter SnG's by buyin level without an account?
I did about 30euro of messing about with SnG's before grinding properly over on pokerstars.fr but wanted to see what my stats are since grinding properly (ROI/ITM%)
Can anyone help if can't be done via no account? Username: SoC0731 on pokerstars.fr (it's further down list about 20 up from bottom)
<33 (If that's not possible, search by last 120 games maybe that would work? or stats for last 100?)
Live donkament
SoC, Nov 04 2011
FT of a live donkament.
I'm BB vs SB.
He bets all 3 streets, I call. He shows flush, I muck.
Dealer says I can't muck and must show my cards? I raise this with TD and he confirms it's showdown so all cards must be shown?! Am i being stupid or is this seriously the most retarded rule ever. I called him, I can muck my cards if I wish?!
Sinking red line
SoC, Aug 08 2011
First 15k hands are NL2 and NL5.
then 5k out of the last 8k are NL10 (rest NL2 and 5)
What concerns me is the non-showdown winnings.
I can't seem to get through many cbets at all, 63% avg over the 3 with 48% avg. Suprisingly NL10 is my lowest success (43.5%)
My turn cbet is avg 48% with success 40%.
First of all is the non-showdown that bad?
(-26 at NL10 / -21 at NL5/ -14 at NL2) or is this standard?
Fish hate folding, so I've always expected it to be low and this reflects a higher win $ at showdown, as getting good value on TPNK.
Anyway in general, started taking NL10 shots (now at 20buyins) Running 6bb/100 over 5k hands, +$31. Not entirely happy with my play here, for some reason I've loosened up a bit once I moved up, need to stop opening that tiny bit wider just because the pots are worth stealing more. Spewed at least 20-30 dollars as well in stupid moves/5bet bluffs. Will be stuck at Nl10 for a while as I ideally need to withdraw again soon Unemployed sucks. But once i start smashing NL10 will be waiting for my first $1k month in september
CAP games
SoC, Aug 02 2011
So after a very bad session on Nl5 and a failed NL10 shot my friend who's a cap regular at 1/2-5/10 suggested I tried CAP.
As I was in a tilted mood and quite happy to flip like a standard degen off I went to learn CAP.
Read guides+watched videos+ analyzed opening hand charts vs certain stats vs stack sizes.
I was severely underolled for CAP, the variance is insane and sick swings are common.
Anyway whats everyones views on CAP? The rake is insane, 8bb/100. And the swings are even more insane. But apart from that I think it's beatable, people flipping with any two including 27 because "I knew you was bluffing when you shoved" My J high still beats your 27 (until the board comes JJ222 :D)
Grinding

So after my $75 -> $575 went terrible due to running $50 under EV and just tilt throwing the rest away via coolers/donkaments/boredom, I took a few days off and restarted This put me 400VPP behind my gold target, which was fine as I had 4days, until I remembered I had guests and ended up on a 3day drinking session
So up I wake today with a 3day hangover and 220VPP to earn at the micro's.
Is there anyway to manually "start/stop" sessions with HEM, my $/hour is fucked up as I play say 2k hands, take a break for 20mins, then play another section. But it counts the 20mins in myminutes played
Madotary rungood graph -
10bb/100 on both Nl2 and Nl5.
20/13/5 stats. In 1.6k VPP I get $100 rakeback, so will probably smash Nl5 for 2weeks now, then move upto NL10 and start moving up stakes and stop robot grinding 24 tables :D
PS: Did anyone watch boxer v rain? INSAANNNNNE TvT, 1hr 10+
$500 Micro profit
SoC, Jul 21 2011
Aiming to make $500 at 2NL and 5NL before the 18th of August.
I've lost my HEM database twice which doesn't help but I've got most of my graphs -
That puts me at about $160 profit in 100k hands.
Meaning I'd need to play about 300k hands or 10k hands a day at the current winrate.
Withdrew money today so I have $75 in my account.
My friend and I are going to have a prop bet though on this and wondering what odds would seem fair for both of us? Wouldn't be a sizeable prop just something to add a bit more excitement into this :D
Plan is NL2 upto $150, then play NL2 during the day and Nl5 during the night when the tables are fishier. (with dropping back to Nl2 if I fall below $120 everytime.
Respecting my raises
SoC, Jul 13 2011
So finally moved out of Nl2, I ran bad there. 15 Buyin under EV But was more playing there for practising mass tabling + VPP grinding to get my $50 bonus and to just gather a bit more experience at online compared to live.
Moved upto Nl5 -
Players are a lot more aggro, seeing light 3bet/4bets a lot more, which I expected and have been able to pick apart pretty much.
Only thing that glares out from my stats is again my VPIP/PFR isn't close enough, and I just can't take advantage of smashing the raise button in CO and BTN. Stats are the same for VPIP/PFR as all other positions
Struggling to get the majority of my cbets through, both good and bad cos I'm getting paid a lot more on hands where I flop middle pair and they float me OOP, but a bit annoying missing a flop with AK 20times in a row and losing a lot more cos they don't fold to your Cbet on a Q high board with 33.
Need to widen my 3bet and 4bet range a lot, but I guess at Nl5 it's not stopping me getting paid at all when I get monsters, but again as I move up this will be exploited like crazy unless I fix this.
Anyway fairly satisfied with 18bb/100 over 8k. Feel free to through in any comments over stats or analysis that I've done wrong
Graph + leaks + random stuff
SoC, Jun 30 2011
Little bit of history, used to play live 1/1 games (£) and won a fair bit up and down, but couldn't build a roll as a typical student always spending and being a standard degen. Long story short won 2k in a week, spent most of it, busted the last of it. Standard. While playing live, I've always just donked about online, usually at 9am when getting home from the casino, just donking away $100 without caring as I was so tired. As I said typical degen So all my stats look terrible in my history.
So after busting my live roll and being unemployed, I thought I'd do the pro thing, and deposit $10 and grind my way to $1mil
Online is very different from live, so didn't start too great. But 50k hands later here I am. Binked $200 cash in storm and running 8bb/100 at Nl2. Cashed out a chunk and purchased HEM today so can finally get all my graphs and stats.
Kinda suprised to be running 15BI's under EV, knew I ran badish but wasn't expecting that. But oh well, can't complain, It's NL2 and thats the point of it :D
Sorry to bore you all but any quick obvious leaks that you can spot?
I need to stop limping and especially open limping OOP and even IP and nit up from the blinds massively and to stop double barrelling (live habit).
