Recently there has been this guy, must be late 20's or early 30's in age, that has been coming to my casino. Seen him like 4 or 5 times and he's literally the nut worst player I've ever seen, and he behaves in a way that might make you question whether he was mentally handicap or not. He would literally ask for help taking chips out of the rack, stacking up the chips, and needed to be told 3 or 4 times each time there was a bet and the action was on him. The way he was playing was limping every single hand, not folding to any raise, and then donk betting every street for some small amount. If you raised him at any point post flop he was 3 bet bluff raise another 100 almost every time and you can literally stack this guy with any top pair. He would has bet big quite often as a pure bluff.

Took so much money from this dude.

So I'm about to apply for a position as a prop player for a local casino. The casino is about 10 minutes away and I plan on it being my main source of income until I finish my nursing classes. I will probably be playing mostly 3/6, 4/8 limit holdem, and 4/8 limit omaha hi-lo, with some 2/5 nl holdem. I have been told by a recent hire that the pay is 9$ + 15$, so basically 24$/hr while you're playing and probably 9$/hr while you're just waiting around.

I'm currently a part time personal trainer that get's paid 18$/hr + commission but kinda getting burnt out/tired of the job even though I love fitness and gains.

Would you guys go for the job? Do you see yourself being a slight winner, break even, or slight losing playing in a limit format? Is it reasonable to expect making 2bb's/hr on top of the hourly so basically 32$ ish per hour?

are delusional and talk smack like they're the god of poker then they lose a pot and get all butt hurt, hammer fisting the table and criticizing other people's plays. Semi tilted after tonight's session playing significantly under my A-game and donking about 600$ to this idiot, and 400$ to other folks.

I hate people who can't take even the small losses at the table and cause an uncomfortable tension. Why does this fishy type of player have to be such pain in the asses at live games? It surprises how many of these people who probably have at least upper middle class income can act like such babies.

Up about 15k since feb but month of may is being really shitty, currently around -2900 for the month and half of it is due to shitty play. I need to add more structure and discipline to this craft of grinding live poker, I'm playing for way too long, making poor decisions, playing way too wide when I'm card dead or slightly tilted and I'm not taking good care of myself health wise.

Time to turn this thing around...

Plan for summer, while working part time (25ish hrs per week);
play 40 hrs of live poker per week minimum,
end sessions earlier when starting to get tired, tilted, table becomes poor
get back to working out 4-5 times per week
cook 90% of food at home minimum
improve on relationship with gf, (spend more time together, etc.

long term live poker goal is still trying to average 30$ hr for at least a year sample

a lot of the time if im wait-listed for my local nl holdem game i'll play limit holdem or limit plo hi lo. the stakes for these games range from 3/6-4/8 with kill pots that increase the blinds 50% for the following hand. I was just wondering if that even if the player pool is the baddest of the bad, with a 4$ rake is the game slightly winnable or should you expect to be just losing money slowly over time with these limit games?

My local live game which is 10 min away has had a new structure for the past few months, small blind = 2, big blind = 3 , 5 to go, must bet in increments of 5 unless all in, max buy in = the deepest stack at the table.

I just had a $2100 losing day playing pretty spewy and semi tilted, I need to invest in an Ipad to keep me from getting bored because I'm pretty sure I'm raising too loose from early positions. My best day so far this year at this game is probably around +$1800. I definitely have to keep improving my game even though I pretty much have an edge over everyone that goes there, and I'm not even super good.

quick question, has anyone ever taken notes on people during live sessions? I was thinking about starting to do that if I buy an Ipad or something.

My live progress is going pretty well despite not playing my A game all the time, have been playing 20-30 hours per week for the last 2 months, am currently up 8500$.

On another note I think my pc is r.i.p. from viruses and repeated overheating. Thinking about buying another gaming pc but I'm not a super serious gamer so I don't really want to spend above 900$. I was thinking about buying this one ...

Herro everybody, pretty self explanatory thread here. I was just wanted to hear from those who have experience grinding live no limit cash games nowadays on a consistent basis and see what everyone has to say about there win rates and what their win rates could potentially be. I am very lucky to have a small card room that is only a 10 minute drive from my house where they have card tables for black jack, three card poker, and pai gow poker and also have another section for a bunch of limit hold em tables a couple plo tables and a couple no limit cash game tables where it's actually 1, 2, and 3 blinds (person on the button has to put in a one dollar blind, small blind is 2, and big blind is 3).

Not only is the game very close by, but the whole card room is extremely soft, every time I look around I could easily be the only in there that's not older than mid thirties. The atmosphere is also extremely friendly and there are a bunch of regulars but not the kind of regulars that just grind all day and listen to their I Pods, but regulars who are there almost every week just to hang out, crack jokes, and play a little gamble. From other sites I've visited I've read people reporting win rates from 20$/hr - 40$/hr from NL 1/2 and of course people reporting ridiculous win rates probably from heaters.

In a nutshell, what's everybody's win rate?, at what live stake?, how often do you guys play?, what do you think is a reasonable win rate in a soft environment?, etc.

Hello guys, I'm trying to play live poker "part time" just for extra cash. This blog is just to ask for help and pointers from those who play live poker on a regular basis. One question I have is what you guys think about live reads and how much does your profitable ways rely on making decisions based of live reads vs other factors that we all are used to using during online poker sessions such as recent history, table image, perceived hand ranges of villains, and value/bluffing ranges of villains etc.

I am wondering this because I am thinking about situations where the more profitable decision is more clear if it was occurring online, but might be less obvious in a live situation. For example a whale on the table 4 bet shoving over your 3 bet around 150bb deep on a straddled pot and you hold AKs. I think online I would have snapped called the shove after my 3 bet, but during the live session the whale looked too comfortable doing the shove.

I dunno, should I meditate and try to tap into the spiritual energy of Phil Helmuth more often?
