Prop Bet Day 2
  tloapc, Aug 21 2008

I really wanted to keep going at it but I can't
I played for 14 hours and still have to drive for an hour in the rain to pick up my family. I gotta get at least an hour and a half of sleep so I'll take that sprint at the end. Thought it would never come

2nd break
  tloapc, Aug 21 2008

cliffnotes:
started out with fancy play syndrome
then I sorta snapped out of it and started playing good and hit a wall of shit which has made me a little impatient
getting and staying focused is harder today than yesterday
yesterday = no music but today = music to get me in a groove and keep me in it
I took 2 small quick breaks to stretch let cat in etc
think I caught a 2nd wind
gonna reboot and find out

screenshots of today so far:

that's it so far

lets get started
  tloapc, Aug 19 2008

making this short cuz it's time to rock and roll

I made a 2 week prop bet
100 buyins @ 6max NL.25 within 2 weeks time
2.5to1 odds

People giving action to:
good friend of mine = my $100 to his $250
gawdawaful = my $100 to his $250
LazyFish = my $100 to his $250
tomson = my $100 to his $250
some guy I'll look him up name later = my $10 to his $25
If anyone on this list wishes to back out, they have until my first update when I post my first set of results.
(especially tomson since I have not talked to him on msn or PM)

Yes I will be updating daily
it will not be a grand update or anything..
a screenshot or two, a few words etc

No I will not be using performance enhancing drugs lol
Again, this is just a for fun and curiosity prop bet, something I did total spur of the moment without any thought
I did no math, no preplanning, nothing
gl me
I'm gonna need it

screenshot:

I hit the print screen button as soon as PokerStars server time hit 43 after.
I have exactly two weeks from this time to make at least 2,500 at NL .25 6max only
If I forgot something let me know, but I think that's it

a prop bet
  tloapc, Aug 19 2008

I'm bumping myself off and putting me back ontop on the poker blogs because I'm going to bed soon and I don't think $200 in action is worth it's own thread. So reposting

ok, I ran bad today at NL100, so what did I do...
I made a prop bet with a good friend of mine to get my mind somewhere else..
gogo genius!
He is giving me 2.5 to 1 odds that I can not win 100 buyins in 2 weeks at NL.25 6max so I've laid down $100 to his $250
However, I do not feel $100 for $250 will keep my determination and drive up to par for two weeks, so I'm willing to lay down the same bet for two other respected/well known members who would like to join in.

I am willing to take 2 other ppl (well knowns on here) for $100 a piece, or if ur a well known baller on here that obviously $200 is nothing to, then I will do 1 person for the remaining $200.
This is nothing serious, it is more of a spur of the moment type thing for fun, and like I said I don't think $100 will keep my incentive or interest.
I have never done this before nor have I done the math of how I should go about any of this, I am just trusting my gut and going at it.
I feel I will profit in this experience at least mentally if not in my wallet.

Once I have 1 or 2 other people involved, I will post a screenshot similar to this but with a different starting time and no IM:

This is a screenshot of the deal already made and same rules will apply here as well.

If I get action, I will also blog daily results, at least once a day until the prop bet is over.
This bet will start as soon as I get a total of $300 for $750 in action and I post a screenshot with times and balance here.
If your interested and want more details let me know
It should be said I am far from Daut44's or LeatherAsses level so I do not think this will be a breeze for me like it probably would be for some, but I do think I can do this.
It should also be said that my good friend who knows my poker game better than anyone else besides myself thinks I can't and is betting the $250 against me. So two weeks from now we will know who is right
It is a good bet.
I will be going to bed within the next 6 hours, and if I get no action and have not started by the time I wake up tomorrow, then I will start with the prop bet I have now and edit this blog

updatage
  tloapc, Aug 04 2008

First off, irl I'd like to meet some cool poker ppl in Houston if such a thing exists. Anyone here insta qualifies as someone I'd like to meet so hit me up if u live around these parts because I plan on staying here on the southeast side for a few years at least. I mean it, no moving

Secondly is a poker update
graph:

biggest pot won for the day:
+ Show Spoiler +

Most of the time the biggest pot won and biggest pot lost is something standard, but this hand is actually quite interesting to me. I think AQ is one of the hardest hands to play, especially in big pots, and even more so out of position. The way I tend to go about it is instead of hating it and groaning like I used to, I use it as a great all round hand.
In a nutshell, I could have AQ at anytime, whether I'm calling, raising, squeezing, shoving, or folding. Learning good balance with all your hands I've learned is key, and again AQ in my book is one of the hardest ones for me to profitably do correctly.
I had no hud up at the time of this hand as PAHUD did some error violation thing and had to be restarted after I had brought up a new table. I should find out why it does this. I've learned when this happens, the hud will not be coming back up at the table until the hand you are playing is over, so don't even bother waiting.
Anyhow, both the cutoff opener and the button where LAGGY types and so that made me instinctively want to squeeze while ahead here. I had the squeeze all made out and ready to fire, but decided last second mixing it up was better. Then when I flopped TPTK and found myself out of position in a three way pot, I made a plan right there. The flop raise really surprised me though, and I did tank before calling on the turn, but deduced he put me on a draw, and most of the times villain would not be overbet/shoving a set.
comments/bashing etc welcome

biggest pot lost for the day:

a standard merry xmas hand in August..

that about sums it up
take care and gl all~

lifetime @ stars
  tloapc, Aug 03 2008

Here is my lifetime graph in big blinds at Stars:

You can tell where I was in the Army just burning money with some friends in my unit because we didn't give two shits.
You can also pretty easily tell where I got out of the Army, and then had to learn how to adapt and actually play if I was going to continue, as burning money had lost it's touch.
Also, those first 20-50k hands, I didn't multi table. I doubt I even knew what the term meant.
I do remember oh so clearly the very first day and first 3 hands I went over in PokerTracker though...
"Wow. What the FUCK am I doing?!"
ya, that was me

Tho this may look like a lot of hands, in all I've played a lot more than this in the past two years. After I found out what rakeback was I ended up playing a lot on other sites that offered it. I'd only play PokerStars in waves, usually just for fun or mainly for something different.
But as my choices have gotten smaller depositing/withdrawing, and trust issues, good software and customer service become more and more important, I only really play live or at Stars anymore. Right now the only place to play online in my book.

take care and gl all!
