motherfucking time and money sinkholes. didnt even know they had tourney/sng restrictions since ive always used the cash 12 hours and limit restrictions. still grinding has been very much what it is, a hardcore grind, up and down everyday but i dont think im playing that terribly although i do know i play very un-optimal poker in some spots. i think ill need to grind like this for a month or two, get a couple grand in profits/fpps and decide to 4 table and try 6max, now its just a race to 8k roll so i can witdhraw more than half to finance my little microstakes business venture lol

update: movie is decent and worth watching , dont expect an ala "prison break" type of thriller though. more of a drama, focusing on the hardships of actually crossing borders of several countries dodging
the russians and germans
watching this atm and so far it's good. ed harris, colin farell, and a bunch of other dudes in this prison escape movie set in siberia set in world war 2. its based on a true story(as usual) and national geographic produced this, its pretty well made and the torrent available is very clear. the escapees have to contend with the locals since the russians have a bounty on any escaped fugitives heads, not to mention the wildlife, hunger etc. i recommend u check it out.

So, I applied for work with Greenpeace and today I had a group interview with them.
I walked in and waiting in reception was a smokin hot Vietnamese chick also waiting for the interview. So my mind drifted off about how we would go fund raising together and have wild sex in mother natures green grasses, then get married.
I just heard back and Ive got the job and am going in tomorrow for training.
I will be fund raising for Greenpeace. Its out and about, which means ill get decent exercise and wont become an all-out fat ass like when i worked in an office, and should have options to move around the country and move into other sectors.
Will get to meet lots of people, the pay is really good, hours are alright and its for a good cause. There are many many asian chicks out there who are willing to donate. Im sure they love a guy whos in touch with environmental issues.
Maybe in a year youll see me swinging off the side of a Japanese whaling boat.

Lost a lil more than a $1000 in April at le nl 100 6max and some nl 50. Some of it spew, some of it le run bad, same ol' story.
Cashed out entire roll, about 2700, but used to be 3700 . Roll started from 400, playing nl 10 late jan/early feb.
My actuall goal for poker was just to become a succesful midstakes player while having an actuall carrer, hopefully working a steady job and then playing midstakes as a hobby and makin an extra 20-30k a year or something for vacations/investing/etc.
The money was on my GF's account anyways so had to withdraw it all sooner or later. I will probably deposit like 1.2k or something beginning of summer, grind nl 50 to get off the ring rust, and then take another shot at nl100 but more concentrated and slow paced, fewer tables for sure. I usually play too many tables because I get addicted to bum hunting and can't resist opportunity for easy money even if it results in lowering the quality of my overall game, which it most likely does.
See ya guys on Stars/Full Tilt, who knows, a couple months from now. Will still be on LP to give my mediocre low stakes advice/opinions, and of course troll.

hmmmmm now that ive actually accomplished step one and youre actually reading this trash i guess i should say something interesting.
i just started playing poker this month and im working really hard to improve and get everything straight so i can improve and hopefully making enough to live. i started off horrrrrrrrrribly and have made a pretty nice comeback.
in the first 2k or so hands or so im just running well and playing tight. after that i get cocky and start to loosen up and i get destroyed for playing like an idiot and constantly over committing to lost pots and try to win too many pots needlessly. from about 12k hands or so up until now ive been studying and working to improve my poker logic and overall process of analyzing the hands im in.
rekruls really the reason why im doing this, i loved how he put it that "poker is freedom". its pretty poetic the way i see it, poker unlocks a million doors for you at the end of the day. if youre willing to give it your all and do everything within your power to improve the game will be gracious to you and give you a good life.
ive been working about 12 hours a day studying and playing, im doing my best to be patient and pick my spots rather than trying to win every pot. after reading a bit of david sklansky's, barry greenstein's, and gus hansen's books it helped my view of poker tremendously and im getting a firm grasp on poker quickly.

1 dont over commit to too many pots
2 big pots are for big hands, use checking to help control the pot size
3 dont be overly aggressive SB-EP, try to play only decent to strong hands OOP
4 get a read on their hand and stick with it (but obviously update your view of their hand based on incoming information), its better to be decisive and be wrong than be indecisive.
5 +EV is going to be +$ poker

I know what most of you will say, but around an year and a half ago I get bored of playing life poker and was unable to adjust to online I start to play roulette from time to time - just for the feeling, I guess I have tha gamboool in me as many of you actually, but to the question - the more time i spend on the roulette the more I think about actually grinding some roll out of it.I feel, think, wish, hope it's possible, but want to share some serious opinions with people who have already try to do this, or have the urge to do it.
The advantages I see here are that roulette is much more intensive than poker, you play vs tht house - yes, but still you are 48% to 52% underdog which don't sounds unbeatable to me with good bankroll management and some system ofcurse.And when I start to browse the net for more info I realised that in some casinos to prevent this from happening when you have a winning bet you are obligate to leave it for the next spin which is not the case here.That makes it possible to even just play black/red with big enough bankroll but this is a lil' bit ridiculous for me so I continue to searh for a better option.Also I'm talkin about french roulette ( with only one green zero, not the american which have an extra green double zero).

I've played poker for four and a half year now. Mostly I've run good, and overall I've been lucky. I've taken a fair few shots at high stakes, I've made a lot of money and I'm really happy with how it all turned out. I've had good times, bad times and a lot of fun. I've had my downswings, my upswings and some tournament scores. I've had 3 +100k€ years in a row now, but the last 3 months I'm breakeven, or down a few K. Yea I've run like shit, and I've played pretty bad at times, but overall I feel that I haven't worked hard enough. I've spent time doing other shit that I've found more rewarding, and as a result my results have suffered. Everything we do have consequences, and I don't really regret anything. I could've done some shit different, but overall I'm ok with my choises and I'd probably do most of them again if I could.
I could say that I'll just work harder, that I'll get back as I always have, and truth be told I probably will, but until school is over for this semester I will take a step back. I don't know exactly how, and what guidelines I'll set for myself, but I'll figure that out. I'll cut back on tables, play lower, only when I feel like it and overall lower my goals considerably. I think the pressure I've put on myself, and the high standards I've had hurt me a bit.
From now on I'll play poker because it's fun. I'll probably never be able to live of it anyway and it's time I got my act together and focused on other things in my life. It's obviously good to have it as a side gig, but instead of aiming for 100k+ I'll be happy if I make a couple of K each month. Less variance, less stress, and more fun. That will be the way to go for me for a while.
So my last 15 sessions, 2 were winners. Down less than 2k now since my last post. Whine post imminent...
Running 2165$ under EV, and total profit at nl50 = 25$ lulz. I'm going to move my roll to Absolute Poker imo. I've been waiting for FTP to unswitch me, but its not coming. So if anyone can help me out, shoot me a pm, or post.
BTW I just started my 1k bonus, but i dunno if that's even worth it. Gonna take me 25k points to get there.

since alot of people seemed to like my last blogpost about how i improved my game and what i think about improveing ur game in general i thought i would bump it for the ones who missed it that might find it interesting
also got alot of long comments in if some of u who read it when i just posted it is interested in some random addons to the post that can be found in the comment section!
as for march, i ended up turning a 10k$ downswing at start of month online into a 5k$ winning month wich felt very good after losing 30k$ live + 10k$ online as fast as i came home
april so far has been very kind to me, up about 9k$ so far and starting to feel very confident in my ability as a pokerplayer, im playing very good poker atm
lately my sessions are usually only an hour or so long, but i play like 3-4 (sometimes 5) times a day, assuming i have the day free (i.e., no school or big HW coming up)
but what's better, having multiple short sessions or fewer longer sessions?
